Elixir software

What is elixir software?

elixir softwareErlang provides excellent abstractions for managing highly scalable, fault tolerant systems, which is especially useful in concurrent systems where many independent or loosely dependent tasks need to be performed.

However, these days, we expect code to be productive and transparent as it saves a lot of time and takes away frustration. Therefore, José Valim, the founder of elixir, was not entirely enthusiastic about the programming experience in Erlang. He created Elixir to keep Erlang productive and expandable.

Elixir software was created to make Erlang productive, transparent and extensible, which saves a lot of time and allows you to get rid of frustration. Compiles to byte code interpreted by BEAM.

It can call functions written in Erlang without affecting the runtime. Everything is taken as an expression. In addition, its features include metaprogramming, polymorphism by protocols, and pattern matching.

The current solution to install Elixir on your computer can be found on the official language website. You can also have a look at one of the extensible version managers, for example asdf.

Remember that Elixir is built on top of Erlang, so you’ll have to install it first if it’s not already on your computer. The only prerequisite for Elixir is Erlang version 19.0 or higher.
